Güneş Terkol's Etchings
"Let It Be Night Again" and "Falling Star" were printed on Hahnemühle 350 gsm using hard ground etching and sugar lift techniques. We did the application under Derin's guidance.
In one of the images, there's a falling star moving toward uncertainty, with a large creature advancing above it. In the other, another being awaits the night by the devil's stove. Bright yellow tones connect the two figures. The effect of the texture of a thin, translucent fabric as light was something I tried to capture in this duo—both fleeting like a cloud and permanent like an etching.
Etching, as a technique, possesses varying levels of subtlety. Among reproduction or printing techniques, it is perhaps the most labor-intensive.
Derin Ekin Kenter is open to any method and experimentation to bring an artist's ideas to life through printing. It was a very enjoyable process for me.''
